Summer in Sandpoint!

Filed under: Uncategorized — cmbrewster @ 11:25 pm

Summer is here and I don’t think you’ll find any prettier place than Sandpoint.  I just took a short walk this afternoon from our office downtown.  After crossing the Cedar Street Bridge, I wandered along the shady path that runs along Sand Creek.  When I reemerged into the sunshine, I was at the rope swing tree where three young boys were happy to demonstrate their skill with the rope, swinging way out over the creek before dropping into the cold water.

Down at City Beach, kids of all ages were playing in the sand, splashing in the water, and diving from the floating docks.  There were walkers like me mixed with skateboarders and cyclists.  We were all having fun on another great summer day in Sandpoint!

I’ll post photos soon – stay tuned!

Our real estate market

Filed under: Uncategorized — cmbrewster @ 5:19 pm

Tom says that we’re definitely in a buyer’s market right now.  Our local Multiple Listing Service (MLS) has more than 3100 listings in Bonner and Boundary counties (the northern part of the Idaho panhandle).  These, of course, range from the less expensive to multi-million dollar places, from bare land to fancy houses.  But the places that seem to be getting the most interest are the lower priced properties.  There is also interest in condos and some upper range homes, especially on the water.

There are a lot of choices at good prices right now.  One of our bargains is a 5-acre piece of land just south of Sandpoint.  It has big trees, beautiful views, and power and phone at the property line – all for $79,500.  If you’re interested, we’ll be happy to look for any property that will fit your needs.  It’s a great time to buy  here in North Idaho!

Springtime at last!

Filed under: Uncategorized — cmbrewster @ 6:12 pm

After a very long – and very snowy – winter this year, we’re definitely enjoying spring.  Our yard and field have turned a lush shade of green now and the early flowers are in full bloom.  I guess we don’t have quite enough flowers yet since the hummingbirds have been emptying the feeder on a daily basis.  They’ll be self-sufficient soon.

We’ve also enjoyed watching a moose in our field lately.  She’s definitely had a hard winter, but she seems to be in good health.  She spent nearly an hour on our hillside the other night, calmly munching on a variety of shrubs and the grove of young aspen trees.  We haven’t seen any bears yet but they must be around.  Watching all the wildlife is one of the wonderful things we enjoy about life here in North Idaho.
